Relocating spare!

Postby Mr nanotech » Thu Jul 29, 2010 10:10 pm

Hey guys,

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGES ago when I was first looking into the mx5 scene, I found one on carsales that had the space saver relocated under the boot boot. I knew it'd be impossible with the old muffler I had. That was massive and when the baffles came loose and it was time to replace it, I put a smaller one on.
I was hoping I'd have more roof but once again, even though it was smaller, still took up most of that room.

Now however, I'm in the midst of purchasing an RS*R GT II Exmag with midpipe etc. As you guys would already know, the pip is angled on a 45 degree angle (roughly) rather than the two 90 degree bends you'd see in the standard setup. Because of this, there will be a noticeable gap where the standard muffler would sit.
I'm wondering how I can bolt the space saver up there and REALLY save some space!
Probably not the best examples but like this http://bjoern.brembs.net/cars/miata/tir ... tucked.jpg

I'm certain a quite a few people on here must have done this before. So yeah, help would be grand!
