Fitting front Garage Vary lip on NA8
ok
lets cut the story short
I've purchased a new Garage Vary lip from rev9 autosports back to 2 weeks ago
now it arrived but seems it needs some modification to fit on perfectly?
just wondering anyone/any work shops you guys would recommend to fit it on properly?
or
do you guys didn't have any problems to fit on yours?

get a friend to hold it in place, drill holes where bolts should go. bolt it in as you go. done! pretty easy, took me & a friend about 30 mins total with nyloc nuts

QFT! I took 20 mins with my mate but we knew what we were doing (i.e. we have a little experience).broady wrote:get a friend to hold it in place, drill holes where bolts should go. bolt it in as you go. done! pretty easy, took me & a friend about 30 mins total with nyloc nuts

Shouldn't recquire trimming, mine lined up perfectly. You sure you have an NA lip?

Oscar,
Jeo asks a valid question but will I will add by asking if you are sure you have a stock factory NA front bumper?
If the answer to both is yes then I am stumped until you provide pictures of both lip and bumper.

Re: Fitting front Garage Vary lip on NA8
not sure on na's, but for the nb8b's... the lips were very snug fitting. you had to flex the lip back for it to hug the front bar. that's how i managed a one man job with drilling it. no clamping with G clamps required.
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..

If your guards have been rolled and pulled it will bend the front bar at the ends because it is connected to the front of the guards. My fibreglass lip doesn't meet nicely with my front bar any more

i know its for a "g-style" front lip (looks quite similar?) but theres instructions/pictures which will
give you an idea of what you'll need to do. hope this helps
Cheers,
Brian

Hey how much did you pay for your GV lip including shipping? Also thanks for putting this thread up! I'm looking for one at the moment so it's handy to have this to fall back on for installation advice

Re: Fitting front Garage Vary lip on NA8
Hey thanks for the post. I'll be getting mine hopefully next week. I just bought it online today and payment is being processed. All paid off and just gotta get shipped XD
But I digress, I was curious on fitment as I haven't actually seen one up close (just online in pics) so this has helped a bit for fitment.
Quick question, what did you use to bolt it on with? I don't really know much about different bolt types and strengths etc..

Re: Fitting front Garage Vary lip on NA8
I got mine second hand so went off to get my own hardware. Not sure if they supply with hardware if you buy brand new.
I got some nyloc nuts and some washers to spread load in the case that the lip does take a hit.

Re: Fitting front Garage Vary lip on NA8
Hey mate - my GV lip wasn't a snug fit like the NB8Bs (I've got a NB8A) and I did have to bend the sides in to make it fit but apparently that's perfectly fine.
I found it much easier to take the bumper off, turn it upside down and then measure & mark the middle.
Drill and screw the bolt in the middle in and the rest will line up quite well. (4 more holes to go).
I know taking the bumper off is extra work, but it's less error-prone and you can take the opportunity to clean & protect the under-body of the front bumper at the same time!
