Dear Mixers,

I'm just about to get mine painted.
Was quoted $340 including colour matching. Probably not a good price considering I've already sanded it off and done some prep work.

Yup, depends if it's just a respray or if you have an old NA6 textured hardtop you want smoothed out and painted.
I suggest messaging "rodsmx5", if he's not working on his V8 MX-5 he might be able to do you a good deal.
I've got an NA6 I need him to work his magic on.

I paid $700. about 3years ago. That did not include the removal of the rear window. The painter was worried about breaking it so painted it with the glass in. It is a beautiful job and I have no problem with the price which is probably expensive by city standards.

The window was already out on mine when I got it so I bought a full set of new seals too. The paint on mine was also pretty crap so there was a decent amount of prep work done by them. Paint was $500, seals were about $350?

Last time i had one done it was $600 including the paint shop getting a windscreen fitter to remove the screen and supply a new seal. More lke $700 to do this now but that is the way to ensure a top job.
This makes the value of a top in the colour you want move more up towards the $1500 mark. .

Thanks Peter,
That's about what I have paid (purchase price) for one in gloss black.
