Depends if it has the demister. Ballpark figure is $1000-$1500 depending on condition. Black hardtops are popular because they suit pretty much any colour '5.

Should fit '89 to early '05, but not NC model released later in '05. As Broady says, colour condition, demister, & inside roof padding dictate price. Popular in Melb also.

Popular anywhere the Winter's are nasty, I'd think. Which is why I'm not interested in it.

If it is the earlier version black(crinkle finish, no lining or demister) then $1000 would be a good get for the seller.
If it was a 1995 version ( smooth finish, lined, demister)then I reckon $1200 to $1500 depending how desperate the buyer is.
It is a funny thing with hardtops, they seem to have gone up in the last 5 years when the MX has gone down signifigantly!!
Peter.

I've seen them sell in excellent condition for around $1800 - $2000. Start high, you can always drop the price if no interest

Second this - most go around there but the later model will command more.

if you know what the value is then in my view better to ask the right price and sell it without playing games. People advertise cars with silly prices and then find either no sale or just dropping the price until it gets to where it should have started. Some people are also put off by inflated prices.
My impression is that dad will have no trouble in selling it.

Of course, but I have seen them sell for up around $1900, so if it's not an urgent sale, and it is in very good condition, why start selling it at $1000 to 1500? We can see from this thread that there is a fair bit of interest in them, and I think there may even be a "wanted" ad in the for sale section at the moment. Being black, it will also be more sought after as it will match well with any colour car.... It won't be difficult to sell at $1500, so if not in any great hurry, advertise it for more and you may well get more.

So have I, but not recently.
I paid $1.9k in the Winter of 2004 for a perfect 2001 NB8B white hardtop, i.e. demister, wiring ponytail & headlining, but prices have been heading South ever since.

i sold my red one with lining and demister from a 92 na6 for $1200 over 4 years ago.... getting one with a demister is key as long as the car that's getting it has the wiring for a demister as i'm not sure how much that would cost to install... having it in melb (in Brisvegas now) was great in the winter and without a/c the demister at least lets you see out the rear of the car without wiping the inside when the car fogs up.
