Hi there,
Just doing some research for my dad. He has a hardtop (black) in excellent condition that was for his 1995 MX5. Apparently this will fit all models from 1989 - 2003.
He would like to sell it and we have been directed to this forum.
Can anyone give me some idea of what these may sell for?
Many thanks.
Lily

Depends if it has the demister. Ballpark figure is $1000-$1500 depending on condition. Black hardtops are popular because they suit pretty much any colour '5.

This one does have a demister.
Hardly used.
Hmmm... might have to pop and ad in. Will check with Dad and see if I get any commission!

Should fit '89 to early '05, but not NC model released later in '05. As Broady says, colour condition, demister, & inside roof padding dictate price. Popular in Melb also.

Popular anywhere the Winter's are nasty, I'd think. Which is why I'm not interested in it.

If it is the earlier version black(crinkle finish, no lining or demister) then $1000 would be a good get for the seller.
If it was a 1995 version ( smooth finish, lined, demister)then I reckon $1200 to $1500 depending how desperate the buyer is.
It is a funny thing with hardtops, they seem to have gone up in the last 5 years when the MX has gone down signifigantly!!
Peter.

Thanks Peter. I suggested to Dad that he advertise it for $1500 or best offer (or something like that). It's in great condition and has all the lining/demist stuff.
Bit of a waste sitting in his garage.

I've seen them sell in excellent condition for around $1800 - $2000. Start high, you can always drop the price if no interest

They're a nice thing to have... I've got a very good one I barely use but just haven't quite been able to part with...
