you can buy belts from local sources or oem Mazda?. Autoliv is one and you will get info and probably pricing from Bursons/ Repco etc. I would spend my money here before sending it overseas- why are we so keen on ignoring local businesses- and of course check our sponsors who should be invited to quote.

Plus seat belts need an ADR tag to be legal, don't void your insurance.

Well I tried to buy locally. But I could only find genuine Mazda belts in this country. & they cost $300 each! So I've gone with the Poms again. A pair from them work out to $400 delivered. So it's a no-brainer who got the business. They arrive from the UK next week.

You have to be careful about buying seat belts from overseas, as most of them are only 50mm wide, and the ADR's state they need to be 51mm (2")!
That's why so many imported cars have to get the belts changed over to get registered here.
Not likely you'd ever get pinged for it, but just keep it in the back of your mind.

The belts from the UK won't have the ADR tag on them and thus won't be technically compliant. Watchout.

Good points from Benny and Bruce- I bet many of us did not know that.

http://www.hemco.com.au/seatbelts.htmlWayne at Hemco will sort you out much cheaper than Mazda, and have the ADR tag. They are the cheapest place I have found to get seatbelts in Aust. I got a set for my vette a while back, and got a new stalk for the MX5 a few months back. And they do colours, but I don't know how closely it will match your existing belt.
