NB BD Bar installation on NA

Hi guys,

A few questions --

Do I need to change the spacers on the seatbelt tower as per the NB installation? I didn't see any mention in the NA instructions and it seems that the NA has a slightly different design here.

Is there any need for spacers where the bar mounts on the parcel shelf or does it just go straight on top of the carpet? When test fitting with the carpet out I noticed there was a gap between the parcel shelf and the bar (there was a raised section -- fuel tank cover plate?)

Do you remove the carpet while lining everything up, or just drill straight through the carpet with it installed?

Just adjust the number of spacers until the bottom of the bar sits flush with the top of the seat belt tower. You don't want it compressing the plastic.

I sat mine on the carpet. I'd suggest a test fit to ensure the bar doesn't rub on the soft-top or a hardtop if you have one.

I'd suggest marking where the holdes need to be drilled and use a stanely knife to cut some holes where the bolts will pass through. I did drill through the carpet, but the backing kept wrapping around the bit and was pain in the butt.

Still need to attack the captive nuts and under the parcel shelf with a dremel but it's in like flinn!

Car feels nice and stiff back there now.

With my NB bar I unclipped the front of the carpet and rolled it back, bolted in the bar, then pulled the carpet forwards over the top and clipped the front into place again, didnt need to cut it.

If I leave my NA bar in I'll have to cut the carpet to bolt the back of the bar in, but it seems to sit lower at the top than I remember the NB bar and I can't see anything behind me in the mirror
