Hi,
I was recently given a price for an second hand NA rear spoiler (the kind which sits flat along the boot edge, not the kind that has upright supports) and as a comparison would like to know what others have paid for theirs. I see that MX5mania sell fibreglass reproductions for $300. What could i reasonably expect to pay for a 2nd hand one? I've seen a few around on cars, but they don't seem all that popular. (I currently have the spoiler with the three upright supports, if anyone would like to trade i'd be happy )
Cheers,
Emil

Ultimately, you'll pay what the seller wants for it..... with consideration given to how 'attractive' or rare the part you are buying is. About 6 years ago I picked up a 2nd hand genuine Racing Beat rear spoiler for IIRC $300. That said, I knew the seller and was able to do the respray myself. I don't know how much you'd get one for these days, if indeed a genuine RB version was available anywhere.
If I was ever to be selling mine (and I'm not) my price would reflect the brand, the value, and how much they are brand new. In the end a spoiler is a spoiler is a spoiler. If a second hand version is as undamaged as a brand new one, then you might expect realistically to not be saving too much.
