i'm after the mazda part number for the NA front lip. mazda australia reckons they don't exist as an OEM part, and they are all aftermarket. i've had a flick through a service manual and some parts catalogues and can't find it anywhere.
can anyone help?

I imported mine from RSpeed. They are identical to the Mazda OEM version.
But I believe MX5 Mania now sells the RSpeed ones locally. Click

I think they are still made somewhere in Canada. I've gotten part numbers somthing like "909-125". Do those numbers hold any meaning to you Locutus?
The R-Speed ones and a couple of other non-genuine are so close to OEM that it would take a real expert to tell the difference.

i heard that they do batches in canada every now and then based on demand. i haven't got a clue when it comes to the part numbers though. from 93_Clubman's post and link above, i'm convinced that it's a mazdaspeed part - i couldn't find it in NA6/8 parts catalogues. actually i had a look at the mazdaspeed catalogues as well and didn't see it there either so perhaps i'm just blind.
just so you know i'm not totally insane, i'm looking for genuine because my 5 had a minor disagreement with a boulder on the side of galston rd. it's being nursed back to full health, expenses paid by my insurance company, but hume smash is having trouble tracking down the part.
anyway, i passed the code on to mick and told him to pull some strings but if all else fails, grab one from mania.
i wonder if the rspeed fits any different to oem? i bought my last one used from the forum and was told it was oem, but it didn't quite line up properly.

If insurance is paying for it, then yeah, go for gold and track down the real deal.
I was lucky enough to find one at a decent price. It was relatively rough, and had a little crack in it, but it was still fairly exy for what it is.
Gomiata apparently stocks genuine ones, according to their website anyways. But for some reason, they dont want to ship these as it's apparently too long.
