im interested about what cars have seats that could fit in an mx5( NB)
i want cooler seats than nba seats..preferably leather...and i want second hand seats (cheapskate  )
i know there are examples of nc seats/ recaro seats/ mazdaspeed seats being put into mx5
but what other cars have appropriately sized seats
suzuki cappuino seats look good?
previous post referenced suzuki ignis
what about renault clio
etc etc etc
what are your ideas
who would actually know for sure( motor trimmers?)
im presuming youd need to mount them on new rails
enjoy

which is

suzuki ignis sport .suzuki cappuino are two candidates i imagine might be suitable..

the question that inspires my curiousity is what others would work? and who/how would you know whether they would fit

so what you are saying is: What OEM seats from another car will fit the mx5?

As a rough guide, any large sedan or whatever will not fit, due to their dimensions, like wide seat base and larger bodies.

From memory:
Rx7, rx8, Lotus elise (non recline), wrx, honda integra/civic.

note: I'm only choosing random "bucket" style seats. Unless you are after some fancy non supporting seats, I would just stick with standard NB8B.

And another hint: look at other 2 seater/convertible cars, which would have seats to accomodate the small mx5 cabin.

I do not know why you would change the seats unless you are perhaps doing track work. All that I have seen tells me that the MX5 seats are carefully packaged to suit the cabin size. Fabric seats are reckoned to be cooler than leather.

because i want to!!!!
and i know for a fact that leather is "cooler" than cloth...moot point on the meaning of the word cool....we might be at cross purposes here
re the "arefully packaged for the narow cabin on mx5...your dead right there!!! and thats why the issue is complicated and the reason for the request for input
as you know OEM isn't everymans bag...and my mixxy is a way from OEM even though it does look pretty close to standard in looks

Could not agree more! My NB8A Seats were ruining my back on long drives ... I swapped them for NC red Leather Seats and no longer have that sore back driving experience, it's the best modification I have done to my car.
The only thing with changing them is that there is going to be some modification required, have you tried searching overseas Miata / MX-5 forums for ideas?
Good luck with it :D

Here's a list I stumbled upon from the big forum

From Flyin' Miata

I think it's a list of seats that fit the car... I'm not too sure...
best to shoot an Email off to FM to make sure

yes it is the list for the miata/mx5/roadster, only na/nb.

those are known seats, but they are only via specs.

Things such as Sparco Roadster, which fits via the dimension specs, but in real world it does not fit unless you trim some parts of the seat.

You want everything yet it has to be cheap? I don't think you will find it as anything that fits into a 5 is generally a bit unique and thus expensive.
