De-badge the front bumper?

I'm getting the front bumper resprayed and trying to decide whether to de-badge or not.

Is the badge just a stick on one? Does it have any locating pins that would put holes in the bumper?

And any thoughts on what they look like without the badge?

Hi PT

The NB8B bonnet badge does have locating pins. I looked at taking mine off a while ago because I like the clean badgeless look but once I got it loose from the double sided tape I found the pins, had to stick it back on as it would have looked silly with the two holes. If you are getting the bumper resprayed you should be able to get the holes filled.

it has locating pins.

But debadging would be nice, it's something that I want to do when I respray the front bumper.

As I'm having it re-spayed (stone chips) I can get those holes filled up.

Does anyone have any photos of one that has been de-badged?

I have de-badged my front bumper. Currently have an NB8A de-badged and used a round JDM Roadster Badge in it's place.
I will be having a new NB8B Bar fitted soon and will also de-badge it, there are two holes which need to be filled which you can do yourself using ISO Plastic Parts Filler. If you want to put the mazda badge back on later just drill the holes out or cut off the locating pins under the badge and stick on with tape.

When I had my car resprayed 18 months ago I had all the badges removed and holes filled, then I fitted a new rear bumper 6 months back but my smash repairer forgot to fill the holes before spraying. I decided to fit an MX-5 badge on the left side and a Roadster badge on the right.
My new front NB8B front bar is being sprayed on Monday and I must have reminded them 5 times already to FILL THE HOLES BEFORE PAINTING ..... hope they have got it by now
