Been wanting to do this for awhile. When a mate gave me a lend of his nibbler I thought it was time to get started. Hope to build it for around $100 bucks...will show results as soon as I get the carpet overlocked.

A cheaper alternative of getting the Nakamae look.

Well I've just about finished it! Got to clean up how the carpet sits which means stitching velcro onto the carpet (tried gluing it but not successful). Found it to be a tricky job but at least it came in under budget - about $100 which is a lot cheaper than Nakamae. Re located the petrol opener in the boot.

Sweet good work!

This is a real one, and it looks just as good as it.

from recollection that was a D-technique? the nakamae has the window switches on console, not dash?

that looks excellent!
what exactly have you used for the shape underneath the carpet?

if it was me, i'd rub the window switch and shifter surround back with P240 and P600 and leave it with a brushed sort of look to match your vent rings.
just a tip though. still looks great the way you've done it.

Thanks for the tip IH8. I think I will try roughing up as the polished SS surround (from ebay) it too obvious. Currently, console is off the car as I'm looking for an electric clock to put either below the switches or between the gearstick ring and switches (anyone got one?). If I did it again I would put the switches somewhere else. Ive just got 1/2" foam under the carpet which is velcro taped along the sides but thinking of glueing it down when finally finished.

Sorry, I thought you meant the foam. A sheet of (offcut) 3mm aluminium.

Dissapointed with the look of the window switches so have added a clock to tie them in. I think it looks a lot better. I kept a pattern of the carpet and aluminium if anyone needs them.
