Hardtop Issues

Well after having a hardtop on the car for 2 weeks I took it off today...Only to find that it has been rubbing on my BD bar so has left this hardend gunk on the top corners of the bar (and worn away inside the roof), and that part of my soft top has detached from the frame. Oddly enough I never had rubbing issues with me NA...So:

1) Who has had issues with a hardtop rubbing on their BD bar and how did they fix it?

and

2) I remember someone having issues with their roof unglueing itself from the frame above their head. What did they use to fix it?

I always thought that the BD bar (and most rollbars) were unable to be used with a hardtop.

BD Bar is very temperamental when it comes to hardtops...
Some fit under... some don't...

I think it changes with application...
history of the car; amount of chassis twist etc.

You should have a little adjustment as to how the bar sits, try loosening the bolts and moving the rear stays a little forward or backward to see if they change the angle of the top bar.

The other adjustment i recall (vaguely) was angling it forward slightly, but i may be wrong.

Well after talking to Alex about it last night, he stuck felt to the hardtop so as its the felt that gets worn down, rather than the inside of the hardtop. Interesting that on my NA, it used an NB bar, and fitted without any dramas...

Another thought I had, was maybe using a couple of washers to lift the rear and push the bar forwards slightly

On the NB8A I had to build in a bar that sat under the rear bar (with gaps for the harness mounts) to tilt the brown davis forward enough to clear the hardtop.
