Do you guys know where I can get a roll of the 3M double sided sticky tape? This is usually found on the chrome/metal trims of the MX5 & also on some body parts (ie. SE bumper spoilers, mudflaps etc).
I've checked the usual suspect and they only sell the generic auto double sided tape which is about 2-3 times thicker.
Is there also an alternative to the 3M which is as thin? If there is, please let me know the brand and where I can get it.
Thanks

Do you mean the tape that is the thickness of normal masking tape?
Try Bunnings, or a local arts & crafts store, eg Spotlight, Lincraft.

I'm referring to the black automotive double side tape used usually for car mouldings and body kits. I hazzard a guess that it's about 0.5mm in thickness.
And it seems to be the standard adhesive for all the MX5 Interior/exterior chrome/brush aluminium accents.

Probably not all that useful to you, but I buy direct from 3M at work. We get huge rolls of it to attach touchscreen panels to monitors, but they may only sell to businesses.

there are at least 100 different types of doublesided tape. 3M themselves would sell at leat 20 different types. you are probably better off going to a panel shop and buying some off them as they would know the right type to use.
