These tools work well when used by those who klnow what they are doing. The one catch is you must be able to get to the panel from behind. If the dents are located where there is a re-inforcment bar on the inside of the bonnet you can't use the tool.

The dent hygienists can often get access to panels by drilling a small hole and closing it with a grommet. You can get a quote - if you go direct to a depot they should be able to tell you. DIY seems to have a lot to do with a person's touch and talent. Reading some books on panel repair is in my view very useful to understand techniques and processes though the dent guys try of course to avoid the need for panel shop methods.I had some work done and was very pleased with the result which was not a proposition for the traditional paint shop .

Don't know if this is throwing a curve ball out there, But I have had good experience with Dry Ice.

Google it and see how and why it works. I used it once on a 180B right door panel that had been hit by a orange from an idiot that got a beat down after i pulled over..

Regardless there was no paint damage just a dent, I used dry ice and left it on the panel after i had taken the door off. The dry ice just caused it to pop back out and i did not have to beat it out at all.

professionals arnt always good at what they do. a professional is someone that is paid to do something... ive paid plenty of "professionals" to do things to my car and i can without a doubt say i would have done a better job myself. gaurd rolling comes to mind as one example.. shouldnt of paid a "professional" to do that

if you do some research, are confident and have a chance to practice before doing it on your car go for it. im sure you know a friend with a bomb you can play with. no point paying someone, they wont care as much about your car as you do.

Some businesspeoples are fairly unscrupulous... and some aren't!
But I guess what he means is make sure you research carefully who you're sending your car to if you do plan on getting it done by someone else
