Just remember, whatever you put on your roof, will eventually leak to your body panels once it rains. I don't think baby oil is waterproof.
So ask yourself this question, would you like baby oil over your body panels? Plus will baby oil also cook if its exposed to extreme heat (ie. Aussie summer)? If it does, it might even harden the vinyl top and cause cracking.
Just as on off topic: Baby oil I think is similar to mineral oil - very fine, non abrasive oil. Reason I'm aware of this is that we were told once by a reputable bike dealer that if all fails, we can always use baby oil as the lubricant for our Shimano hydraulic disc brakes on our mountain bikes. Shimano only recommend mineral oil for their hydraulic discs.
A few of the guys I go riding with have done so for 3yrs now (it's much cheaper than mineral oil), and have had no problems with it.
