Hi,

I have a couple of minor \"shopping centre\" dents in Malibu's door that I want to get fixed.

Pics below.

Does anyone have any advice as far as mobile dent removal specialists that could handle this sort of thing. I really would prefer not to have to book the car in to a smash repairer if I can avoid it, but I am very fussy

Thanks
Jules

I had the dent repairers do some work on my car and I was very pleased with the results. However sometimes they have to drill a hole and cover it with a grommet/closure such as the door jamb to get access to some panels - would that worry you knowing it was there even no one else would? Learning to live with some imperfections is necessary- it would be costly to remove and repaint every stone chip which results from using owning a car.

i've heard that if you sit dry ice in the middle of a small dent for a few minutes, it pops out.

i haven't tried it though.

The paintless guys use a metal tool, covered with vinyl or similar, which they rub behind the dent (gently) to push it (work it) out slowly.

I can't remember who I used quite a few years back, but the results were very good.

I'm guessing dry ice may work on those large dents which are under pressure (they will pop back out)

Paintless guys should be able to fix that. Take your door trim, etc off for them. If there is a rib or support directly behind the dent, then they can't fix it.

They had something like that on another forum. They booked him for a Sat.

I think he got through 20 cars or something ridiculous. Make it worth his while.

Yeah, a few car clubs have paintless dent repair days. I'm surprised nothing similar has been organised with the MX5 clubs.
