I've been thinking about where to locate an oil cooler and I don't want to sacrifice any flow through the radiator.

Just looking at Brendan's and James' cars there might be an option to use the front parkers as an inlet to a cooler.

Does anybody know where to get those conversions? or any other good ideas for an NA?

what David at Mx5Mania has done is cut 2 small oval holes in the front bar (like nostrills) and mounted the oil cooler behind it, it actually doesn't look too bad and is very effective... just depends if you want to modify the bar..

i think the parker inlets do exactly that. by adding an intake you are raising engine bay air pressure, which reduces airflow through the radiator.

Thanks guys. I was looking at the nostrils on David's car when they were down here last year. Now I know what they were for. They look OK on the black car.

I'm not worried about a mildly reduced pressure differential across the radiator as I'm looking for cooling at high speed basically, just as long as the radiator only gets fresh air.

you can't just put it in front of the radiator, in the mouth? thats's where i was planning to put mine

There was a write-up I found (can't find it again) where someone cut and took a dremel to the parker lights, of the stock lights, and glued mesh on the front. Looked neat.

Gomiata has them, but good luck trying to get a reply via email.

I can highly recommend Moss.
Good prices, excellent service and VERY reasonable shipping costs.

If you want the best build quality TSIs then look no further than the Zest intakes from Japan.

They cost a bomb (if you can find them that is)

The difference is that the globe is round rather than triangular in the Moss motors version, and the quality of the plastic is better with the Zest version.

oh, word of warning:
After a wee bit of research, AFTER I got mine, some US Miatas have multiplexing indicators, meaning that one globe serve as both indicators and parker/driving lights.

I have no idea which globe and holder they use to multiplex, but all I know is they are different sizes.
In other words, make sure that the TSI will hold the appropriate bulb and holder for our indicator and NOT parkers.

If you remove and check your indicator housing, you will see what I mean.

Ray, I have no idea what brand mine is (got them from garettb16), but they look like the Moss/Ravenwing ones and they are great. I can't really see where one can improve on the design. It's made from very solid fibreglass and plastic.

I agree, it does look nice.
But were are the bulbs supposed to go? There are no housings that I can see.

I read only a few of the posts on the thread and boy, they really don't get sarcasm do they?

Yh, this one looks great, especially the price. It looks like you could rig up a combo 21w/5w bulb in a single socket for it.
