Rear number plate mounting position

I recently picked up my slim-line plates for my 5. I share Li21's problem with the front mounting - but that's an easy fix. It's the back I'm puzzled with.

When that naff mounting bracket thing is used, the top of the bracket is exposed and the plate sits halfway down.
Mounting directly onto the beaver panel will work with some drilling on the plate, but will expose the hole in the bottom of the panel.
Third option is mounting directly onto the beaver panel but drill holes in that instead.

Anyone have any better options for mounting?

You can get aftermarket blanking plates that sits behind the number plate and blocks out those holes as the slimline plates are too small.

I've seen a Carbon Fibre version floating around...

Good idea on the blanking plate. Although CF's not my thing :)

One thought is to use clear perspex (which I have easy access to) and paint the reverse sider white (to hide all the dust and stuff that will inevitably accumulate behind it). Could go all ricer and put some LEDs in that so they glow through :D

From memory I think it was S2 Racing... I can't find it anymore on their website :(
