I'm in need of a new softtop and found this on Ebay. I'm thinking of the stayfast with glass window.

IPlanning on purchasing this week. Any opinions greatly appreciated.

Talk to MeanMX, he has a Mohair one with a glass window.. He is very happy with it.

Mohair is the bomb yo, and Prestige Auto Trim has a good reputation.

Go the mohair. Seriously the only problem I have encountered is that the piping around the window can push on the hood material causing premature wearing. I suggest raising the stoppers just a little bit so that the roof sits a little higher when folded. Apart from that the packaging was brilliant, the service was brilliant and the price was right

When you do buy it could you weigh it? Then weigh the old OEM one? Just to satisfy my curiosity.

Will definately buy this week. But im still deciding mohair or stayfast. I know mohair is much better but that extra doh and the fact that i have a few other things in need of repair, that extra money will help greatly. Could anyone with the stayfast enlighten me on its quality/durability.

I'm also considering a new top with a glass window like mariokarts from prestiges, but I cant see myself going for a mohair.

I think i'll be sticking with the vinyl because i'm 'under the impression' just from looking and feeling the tops that the mohairs would be a pain to keep clean? and looking new with compared to just armouralling a vinyl top..??
what sort of products are used to 'revive' mohair tops?

Unless i hear otherwise from a mohairian or two I think I'll prob stick with the standard vinyl top. Just my 2bobs and thoughts.

I have a Stayfast top with plastic window on my Clubman, and I find it really good. It is alot nicer than the standard vinyl top it came with, the durability is excellent, and its not too hard to keep clean. I sealed mine with some 303 Fabric guard, which i recommend to everyone with a fabric top.

Looking at MeanMX's top the stayfast is not as thick as the Mohair, so Mohair will be quieter, and insulate better, but the stayfast is lighter.

So it all depends on what you are after, also I went plastic window because the tops are cheaper, lighter, and I have a NA Browndavis roll bar.

My top cost me $460 all up delivered from daveshouze on US Ebay, I couldn't be happier with the quality and the price. I went with them because they were alot cheaper than Prestige. Stayfast top, with plastic window Daveshouze: $460 vs Prestige: $735

Personally, if I had the choice, I'd prefer a zip-out plastic rear window as on a hot day, it's really pleasant to drop the back window and keep the top up with the side windows down.
You get all the air flow, without the sun burning your bonce.

Just my personal opinion.

I kinda like the light weight plastic window but Ive seen too many that get UV damaged and go all opaque.

I like the zip out idea but I presume the zip out can never be done on glass??

You can get a top that will go up and down without unzipping(ie with a modified strap set up), but can be unzipped if you want to and with a glass window-the best of all worlds!!

you will find a few makers offer this option.
