Dam thats cheap I paid a lot more for em.

They do transform the look of the car.

They are a piece of cake to install and quite easy to wire up.

(Wire em up as indicators ane you can find your car more easily in the car park)

There's a couple on eBay US, a week ago, for considerably cheaper than that.

I like the idea of changing the reflectors into somehting useful. Keep us posted on how the install goes.

I'm very keen on doing this mod - both the round side repeaters and the 4 corner reflectors (on an NA). The clear reflectors I've seen all include orange light globes and wiring to make them indicator or running lights.

I've been hunting around for a good price, and here's what I've found:
MX5 Mania (AUS) - repeaters $65 + reflectors $145 = $210
MX5Parts.co.uk (UK) - repeaters GBP24 (budget version GBP14) + reflectors GBP40 = GBP64 = AU$138
MX5Parts.co.uk (UK) - bundle deal - repeaters + reflectors GBP48 = AU$104 (thanks Marcusus: http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=29993)
Good Win racing (US) - reflectors only US$78
Miata Mania (US) - reflectors only US$80

and ebay:
Clear Side repeaters - GBP18 inc postage (?) - AU$39
Clear side reflector - GBP42.50 inc postage - AU$92

Converted using STG1 = AU$2.16. US$1 = AU$1.07 - so only a touch (7%) more. checked just then off Oz Forex.

And so you know how good they look: http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=26083

may I suggest that side reflectors should be amber. Clear reflectors are for front applications and red for rear. Side repeaters on all local cars flash amber either thru a clr bulb and amber lens or amber bulb and clr lens. It seems you can change to a clear lens and amber bulb but clr side reflectors seems to be out-it does not comply with ADR.
Mazda comply with ADR's and standards- fashion can live but still must comply with regs- you cannot make yr own rules.
Vehicle makers change lamp appearance regularly and most people would not even notice or care what the colour of the side repeaters were. I noticed that the NC is still using amber side repeaters. You can check govt regs to verify reqt\"s for yourself.

No idea re the road rules, but the 2007 Limited Edition came with clear side indicators and an amber bulb.

Mr Morlock raises a good point. In WA I understand (but haven't checked recently) only red can shine backwards (except the indicators of course. Oh, and the parkers) and red can never shine forwards.

When it comes to my car I'll put orange globes in the reflectors (the 4 corners) and wire them with the running lights. That way the excuse (or so it goes) will be that in broad daylight it's bloody obvious where my car is, I can't mislead anyone; and at night, they're orange like current Volvo running lights. Then I'll wait to get the defect notice :P

I mean the ones that stay on the whole time. Is there another (more accurate) name for them?

interesting regarding the legal issues of white for reflectors

while both the new commodore and falcon have no reflectors at all

and also quite a few reverse lamps reflect white when viewed from behind with lights

then there is the red reflectors on left and white on right as well

interesting what you find while doing research

wonder what this guy could get done for :P
