How much paint do I need to paint Patchy.
2L ?
2.5L?

Does anyone have contacts they are willing to share for good quality Acrylic paint. Classic Red.

Is there paint. And is there better paint. Is theree such a thing as 1 brand being better than another? Unfortunatley 2 pac is out of the question. :(

Pity I don't live closer, i'd be keen to help you repaint/sand patchy.

Be nice to see Patchy return to her former glory.

Yea It may not be for some time yet.....there is still a heap of work to do.
but at least if I have the paint staring at me I will not keep spending money on other things & will also keep me motivated to get this complete

Why not paint Patchy another colour?
Or are you 100% happy with Classic Red Stan?

I've thought about this often. If ever it gets sold ( not that is is on the cards in the near future) It will be original colour.

$200 for materials and some poly urethane boat paint and 3 weeks of my life and I ended up with this - and I still have 3-4 litres left of this paint which I'm never gonna use again. :?

Check out my previous threads:

I thought about the boat paint long & hard and very often. I'm sure its just as much work either way. I decided I was more comfortable with the traditional way of doing it. I did also admire Steve 808's effort.

Why is 2 Pack out of the question? you could hire a spray booth, and oven for a couple hours quite easily.

What Stan said - Brisbane and Melbourne both have booths for hire, but sadly Sydney doesn't as far as I can work out. I'm guessing it would have a lot to do with Workcover OH&S rules - having someone 'unqualified' using your equipment leaves the owner very exposed if something goes wrong.
