NA bonnet slightly raised

Hi there,

I have tried adjusting my bonnet so it meets flush with the front bar but it is about 2 mm raised.
The lower striker attached to the frame on the car is adjusted as low as it can go.
The striker on the bonnet seems to be grooved out approx 2 mm. causing the bonnet to be constantly raised.

I have had a look to see If I can remove the bennet striker, it is riveted on but dont think it can be removed.

If anyone out there has a NA can you check to see if your striker on the bonnet is grooved out or is mine stuffed.
How would I fix it a weld job????

Anyone with info would help me out.

i'd be inclined to think you bar was skewiff rather than the bonnet mate, especially if you've gone as low as you can go with adjustment :?

Have a look at page 7 in \"labour of love\" topic--the bonnet catch was filled. Mine is the same and I am looking for clues as well.

Yes that is the latch i have the problem with.

It is worn out on the top side some how. I need to fill it with something.

Do you know what they used or did they just weld it and then file down smooth??
