The \"Miata Performance Handbook\" makes frequent reference to a company called \"Brainstorm\" as a good place to source aftermarket parts for the mx5. from the book, it seems they sell loads of stuff but i am having trouble finding any recent info on them ( google search turns up some old references ) so i'm guessing they went out of business ? ?

I am particularly interested in some of the body kits / bumpers they sold. does anybody know if any other company sells their bumpers these days? maybe someone bought out their old stock, or bought the moulds ? ? ?

cheers

Hi Fatty,

From what I understand the Miata section of Brainstorm was split off and is run as a separate company.

Here is a link to their site.

http://www.brainstormperformance.com/home.php

They do sell Miata body kits, but their range is limited compared to what it used to be.

ah, there you go . thanks juffa, you're a champ. why couldn't i find it ? ? ?

anyway, they don't seem to have what i'm after on that website... i guess i could send them an email about old stock or something...

also, im a bit confused about what you mean when you say that the miata part of the company was split off... is there another company apart from the one at that website you sent me to ? ?

yeah looking at that website all the body kits are a bit over the top eh!? it's all very ricey / blingey.

the rear bar i'm after was very subtle and almost stock looking... nothing like that stuff on the website

From memory the original company also supplied bits for other cars. From what I read on the big forum the company split into two, Miata/MX-5 and everything else.

I remember Brainstorm as one of the early online companies that designed/manufactured/sold a great variety of MX-5 parts.
