You must be hearing things, I've been told that NC's dont rattle or squeak.

However, I have read on miatanet that adjusting the latches seems to fix hardtop squeaks. It's a fairly involved process, not as easy as the older cars. There are instructions on miatanet, but if it was my car I'd be taking it back to Mazda to get them to fix it.

Are you sure it's not the centre latch cover or left roof locator cover buzzing?

What I've noticed in mine is that the noise travels in unusual ways. I thought I had a rattle in the roof in the top left, turned out to be the back of the passenger seat rubbing on the bulkhead.

its not the center jbt had people in car and pin point it to same point

when closing roof right side makes a tight sound then when you latch the center the left side makes same sound i think she is out of line have to look in to it with mazda to make left side close tighter as the right side make no noise

if that makes any sence

Is it squeaking, buzzing or a wind blast noise Rob?

Hmmmm......well you can always run past our place one day if you want someone to ride shotgun and see if the problem can be isolated.

I had this problem too!
Thought it was something was loose in the dash then it got worse the weeks wore on. Some thought it was a crack in the body (jealous) - it was that bad - then the rattle spread to the passenger side.
Took it to Mazda and they fixed it. Appears the put grease in various places and may have tightened the arm???
What ever it was it was simple fix.
