I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but i've searched and can't find anything.
I've got an 04 SE, and the roof is starting to lose it's black colour (not baddly but rather it looks dirty even after a wash).

how do i treat it and with what?

Thanks
Fabian

I'm a big fan of 303. It's a vinyl restorer - exxy - available from any superrepcobarn. A coat every 6 months or so works wonders.

There is another product sold at Autobarn and other various places.
I think it is called Cobra Cockpit Protector

Try shoe polish
It gives a nice black and protects your vinyl, as well as being water repellant. :D

aerospace 303 as said above is the shiznit of products

like an armorall but without silicone. instead it has 30spf sunscreen.. its the only thing i use on my dash and roof.

its not greasy at all, you could use it on your steering wheel.
same size bottle as small armorall is about $14. whre armoral is $7

BEST BEST

If your roof is cloth, not vinyl, Mothers/Meguiars and Autoglym make cleaners specifically for the roof material.

If your roof is made from vinyl, pressure wash and then apply Youngs 303.

i give it a good wash every now and then with a proper brush to get the dirt out of the vinyl...then use shoe polish...comes out tops and protects and lasts...

I reckon it would do the same thing for tyres that it does for roofs. Soaks into them, brings back the black and makes them shiny and slippery. I wouldn't go there.

I am certain that my grandfather is turning in his grave over that one. As a spray painter for 40 years, armourall was the bane of his existence.

Never put it on tyres - ever.

Use tyre stuff on tyres, use vinyl protector on vinyl. 'nuff said?

yep i agree... armorall is nasty

silicone actually promotes dryness after the grease has gone that is.

aerospace 303 isnt greasy at all.. you could use it on your tyres but i would just use a cheap $2 tyre shine.

You're not meant to put it on the tread...

Care to share which shops stock it, i havent had much luck finding it at supercheap or autobarn locally.
