Mazda front intake grille for NB

Unfortunately, I couldn't get hold of a Techno grille so I ended up getting a similar stainless steel mesh grille from mx5parts in the uk.
Service was excellent. It was despatched the day I ordered it and I received it in less than a week.
The grille was on special.... 34 pounds, which I thought was a pretty good deal. It's a genuine Mazda part according to the brochure. Who knows?... but it's very well made so I'm not at all surprised if it was.

Unfortunately, the holes for the tow hooks didn't match up and I ended up having to remove them to make the grille fit. It took my brother and I about an hours work of fiddling to get them out. But I think it looks a lot neater without the hooks anyway.

The grille finishes the front end nicely without being too garish.

Thanks Sliq. Wash your car? Err...no thanks
I have enough trouble keeping my own car clean. Dark cars are nice but alot more maintainance. Thank god for Meguires Quick Detailer.

The price of the grille has gone back up to 89 pounds, so I guess I got it at the right time...

I got the techno grill onto my MX5 about $150 AUD (I think it was kida expensive)

Pros:
Looks good
Good fit (takes a bit of soap around the edges to help get it in)
Good quality
Easy to install took <20 min
Came with instructions (good for nubes)
The edge is coated in plastic or something so it wont scratch your car when you install it.

Cons:
You use two cable ties to secure it to the toe hooks. (I would have liked to take the toe hooks off to reduce weight etc)
Must use OEM nuber plate bracket (helps to hold the grill in place)

I got it from the MX5 factory in Melbourne

http://www.mx5factory.com.au/contact_details.htm
(I dont think he sells stuff online like mania)

Nice service and he knows his stuff however everything there is kinda expensive. Although if your an MX5 club member you get a discount.

As for the number plate bracket basically from my understanding the screws that hold the number plate bracket to the car stick out a bit. These screws are what the top of the grill is pushed up against so it doesnt move about. (hope that helps)

I've got a Techno Grill.

I've had mine since 2003 (I believe I was Techno's 2nd customer). So I can vouch for their durability and quality.

I've only had to remove it once or twice (for detailed cleaning), but apart from that it's been on the car since the day I got it. I'm very happy with it.

And as Alf says, Techno is a member of this Forum. Just PM him for details.
