I left my 5 at a public carpark for 30 mins and came back to find these on the boot
looks as though someone dragged something across my boot
I've parked it in the same place before for hours and nothing has happened
most seem shallow except for the ones in the last 2 pics
so what's the best method for getting them out??
What other products should I use for a big clean, polish, wax?

cents? you mean they have no sense?
The sratches have stumped me. I was gonna say a bird's talons, but it would have been a flock of birds, and BIG birds at that.
Any chance of getting security camera footage?

That is truly fu****
I hate shopping centres and try to never go near them.
Perhaps some Meguires Scratch X may help. Depends if the scratches are deep enough to hit the undercoat or not.

looks like cats, possums or dogs to me. I have had a similar problem in my own carport from a possum who loved my VX Commodore for some reason - have never had a problem with any other car there

That really sucks and looking at the number of scratches, no accident, just mindless vandalism. Some one needs to be keel hauled, then drawn and quartered. Then they would also feel your pain. I hope it ends up being easy and inexpensive to repair.
Cheers!

I've seen damage like that before - it was from scrub turkeys...
It could have been a bird argueing with its reflection in the back window, trying to show it's authority to the 'other bird' in the reflection!

Someone could have slid across your car ?
Yep I thought the same too.
My guess, Emo's.
They have heaps of metal bits on them right? Studded belts, chains, etc...

Hard to say without seeing the scratches in context, but I'd probably guess Emos, too. If so, take comfort that it's an evolutionary dead end, in its own unique way.
Cheers,

I'm going to try some ScratchX and see how it goes, since the scratches don't go down to the undercoat
if that doesn't work then I'll just polish it up as best I can, use some wax and hopefully just get over it
I'll post up some pics when it's all done
