Instructions for fitting Mazda Windblocker
You will need :
1) Two plastic wall plugs (5-6mm) diameter by 20-25mm long, similar to those in the picture.
2) Square pieces of double sided tape of sufficient thickness.
3) Small hammer.
First locate the plastic lugs near the seat belt tower behind the seats. You can see where they are in the picture. Remove the lugs and these are the mounting holes.
Once you have removed the plastic lugs on either side you can test fit the windblocker by using the plastic wall plugs, but do not push in the pins !
You will notice that only one hole on each side will align to the brackets on the windblocker. Do not worry, these are all you will need. For added strength apply the double sided tape to the sides of the bracket.
When you are ready to install. Use some alcohol wipes and clean the area where the double sided tape will stick, to remove any dirt or grease. Apply the tape to the brackets, but do not peel off the liner on the side that will stick to the side of the seat belt tower.
You can now position the windblocker into place, install the plugs and using the hammer, gently tap the pins in. As the plug is identical in size to the hole, this will firmly secure the windblocker in place. Once the windblocker is aligned in place, use a small blade on remove the liner of the double sided tape. This will prevent the windblocker moving. You are done!
This windblocker has never moved since I installed it two year ago, it is very secure. (Tip) : If you need to remove for any reason, you will noticed the heads of the pins is like a screw. Using a small screwdriver, you can unscrew the pins far enough to pull out the pins with a pair of pliers.
