first thing i'd be doing is getting some weedspray and cleaning up that driveway so it doesn't happen again!

I you have animals or small children at home, it's better NOT to use a sprayed-on chemical to get rid of the weeds.
Instead, boil up some water in the kettle, and pour the boiling hot water onto the offending weeds, making sure you get it where it pops out of the ground (in other words, near the roots) and in a couple of days, the weeds will be dead.
Then the wind will eventually get rid of the deadens for you, or you can pull them out easily.
Much safer than using chemicals that can get into your good plants.

Glyphosate is not as evil as people make out.

If you own the place, I would dig it all out and put in a concrete shallow gutter.

And it's still cheaper to go privately for $1800??
How much is your premium going to go up? How much is the excess? I thought Shannons were quite reasonable usually. If I claimed through Just Car, even with my age excess it'd be $1200...

Wow
I thought Shannons had cheap premiums? You aren't in the mega young range of drivers or anything are you?

That's odd. I seemed to get the impression that Shannons had a cheaper premium than Just Car... Maybe it depends on the area a lot more than I thought.
Hopefully I can settle this once and for all when I hit 25 and Shannons will actually insure me.

Wow ... I've always had the most expensive comprehensive quotes from Shannons ... I would never have thought them to be competitive although some pay extra for better cover / services I guess.
Shannons were the cheapest by quite a long way on the SE. However, their premiums seem to vary randomly with time. Went from $650 the first year to $420 the next, to $520 this year. And that's with my under 25 son as a nominated driver (but only when I'm passenging). They seem to have limitless capacity for special conditions on their policies.
That said, a mate recently got refused insurance with Shannons on his new Golf GTi, because he didn't meet the specifications for being an "enthusiast".
Cheers,
Alf

I remember hearing about that on here I think a while back. I guess it pays to be a member of the club and to have modified the car if you want to go with Shannons.

Golf Gti is not an enthusiast's choice of car
I bet he'll have more luck with a Mini Cooper S
