OK, it looks like I may end up buying a 10AE to replace my current MX-5 and its misfortune with the RTA people (I'll find out on monday I believe, if not later today).
Anyway, I have looked at a 10AE (Bozman's in fact) . His 10th Anniversary badges are missing off the car. So was wondering if there was any other way of identifying which number it was out of the 7500 world wide and 150 Australia wide it is.
I spoke to Mazda customer service on this and they never kept any records. But interestingly they said the limited edition 10th Anniversary badge was only just a badge and did not contain any numbering of the car. This goes against what I have read in my 10th Anniversary MX-5 brochure which I have kept all these years. So was wondering about this.
Mazda did say I could buy replacement badges but they would not be numbered, just a standard badge.
If any other 10AE owners could comment or help with this, I would appreciate it, as you all seem to know which number your car is and I would like to know which number Bozman's 10AE is. Especially since it's looking like I will buy it.

Interesting question. I take he no longer has the badges? I know of some 10AE owners badges that moved the numbered badge into the cockpit to protect them.
I wonder if the cars were numbered in VIN sequence, if so you might me able to match his VIN number with other 10AEs and then see what their SE number is?
Would someone have photos of the car that might show the badge/number. Would it be recorded in the sales info in the service book folder that should come with the car?
By the way I have seen a couple of 10AEs on carsales.com.au. One has low KM, and was priced under $20k. I have no affiliation with these sales, just thought the price seemed good, especially for a car that was over $50k when new.

Thanks Juffa,
Yeah, I know there were other 10AE's out there, but I was particularly after one that was in NSW. I've had enough hassles with the RTA with my current ride to the point where I don't ever want to buy interstate again and then try to transfer it across.
Bozman's was the only one in NSW that I could find. Also only a short drive to his place from Nowra. Only took me 1.5 hours .
About the only other MX I was interested in was a 2000 model NB8B 6 speed (also blue) in Sydney with only 80,000klms on it. Asking price was $19,500.
But I like the 10AE. About the only thing I am not sure about is keeping the BD roll bar and also the original drivers seat will have to get put back in for me as I can't fit properly in the sparco seat he has installed.
I am hoping that 10AE owners here will be able to help me out in identifying which number Bozman's MX is. Then I will try and replace the badges as well.
