that was the first thing i thought when i saw the pic. i reckon that'd cut airflow by about 50% :?

i pulled mine out and sold it on ebay as soon as i took delivery of my NA.. the previous owner had one of these on it and i reakon at a guess she runs cooler now (no tests done prove this one way or the other though)

\"Airflow to the radiator is vitally important. This grille has elongated hexagonal holes (see picture) allowing maximum airflow, thus preventing your engine overheating. Most MX5 grilles have circular holes which restrict airflow\"

This was the blurb on the auction page..

i actually thought these holes were quite large compared to other grilles i have seen on Na's

I think the holes are rather large too, small insects & stones will still get through anyway. It's a nice product, made by I.L. Motorsports thats sold through mx5parts UK. Got one myself but in black. No issue with changing temps here & I now have my windshield washer bottle relocated to in front the radiator again.

i've been itching to get one of these too, but have been concerned about the quality of the fitment since the one grille was designed to fit both NA & NBs.

judging by your pics, it doesn't seem to be an issue. either of you care to comment?

easy as on the NA anyway, & doesn't scratch the paint either (which is why it has that rubber strip along the bottom

thanks, that's nice to hear.

on closer inspection, it looks like you guys have different grilles. i don't think SuperMazdaKart's version fits NBs. but they both look great though!

Techno grill

My \"Techno\" grill uses steel mesh rather than perforated steel, and is quite a tight fit.

I've had no overheating problems at all since the grill was installed ten months ago.

Of course you have to remove your tow-hooks to fit it.
