Thanks for all the comments guys.
Seats look good Ben, you should look at colouring the inside of the seats black to break up the red a bit.. will also be harder to stain..
Is this what they do in the states?

Seriously I was looking at the red/black ones which have black on the sides and red inside. But when I eventually found a place that sold them he had either red or black. I was worried the red would be too much but in reality they look pretty good and tie the red in the interior together nicely. As for the staining, it's just as well I still had the old seats in when I took Stu down the Great Ocean Road
Thanks for the comment Derek. You ask most of the same questions I was contemplating before I bought mine. I got most of my info from this thread so thanks to all who contributed
http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=24726. I didn't really want to post up how I did it as there are a few critical people on here who will no doubt find fault with what I did but it sucks being left in the dark so I will try.
The drivers side was very easy. The front of the rails use the same holes to go up into the seats but the rear holes have to be drilled about 15mm closer to the front (this is not an exact measurement. You will see when you go to do it). Then it's a matter of just bolting it in.
The passenger side was a lot more difficult as the seat holes are wider than the car holes by about 15mm. I had to basically elongate the holes where you bolt them into the car by about 7mm each side front and back with a dremel. It took a long time to do this but be patient. I then had to get slighty longer bolts to bolt them in. Off the top of my head the bolt thread is 10 x 1.25.
The seats were a very tight squeeze to get in and there is absolutely no room on each side. As mentioned I even had to remove the plastic cover around the seat adjustment lever to fit them in! That's tight

. I found that I was probably about 3-5 cm's higher afterwards. If you are over 6 feet I do not recommend these. Also you might want to consider a flat bottom steering wheel.
I was looking at the bride style as well but I went with the recaro because I think they are sexy as. I believed that the recaro and bride were about the same width but you might want to take a tape measure to it. The bride was softer so may be a bit more comfortable. They look great from the back with the roof down

. Hope this helps.
Ben
