URGENT - Voodoo/ Rims Transplanting ?!
Im looking at an upgrade to an NB and the one I'm looking at seems to have the OEM gearshift knob... ( http://www.maxkirwan.com.au/article2.asp?code=usedCars The red one) If I take this car can I transplant my voodoo from the NA as a direct swap from one to the other ?
Also I dont like the rims on this one (also look like OEM) am I able to do the same thing with the wheels ?

Yes.

Yes.
A few nice little extras on that one Mon. Those rims are in demand a little though, so you might be able to sell them on here? Might be too much hassle though.

And the NB knob will fit streight into the NA.
Those rims look very nice on NAs.
Yes Squeek, your NA knob will fit the NB, and the NB knob will fit the NA. Just unscrew them. Simple.

mon , as boags said those rims look HOT on an NA.
i purchased a set of those for my na recently to replace my old rims which were very similar to yours. in my opinion, they look heaps better. if you bought that car you could swap the rims onto your na and it would look really, really nice.
remember, there is nothing wrong with having oem rims. in my opinion, most of the oem mx5 rims (except the original ones) look as good or better than the aftermarket ones that people tend to fit . but that's just me.

actually, i know you are looking at trading in your NA. why not haggle with max kirwans to get them to swap the rims and geearshift as part of the deal? i reckon they would actually prefer to have your na with those nb rims on it, as i think it would be a more attractive car to most prospective buyers.

Yep, That would be the plan. If I go ahead with it. I havnt inspected/test dríven the Max Kirwins car yet to decide if I even want it, but I need to know what I can/cant bargin for.
I've allso found a really nice 2000 NB at car city. ( http://ucn.dealernet.com.au/detail.php? ... id=2495930 ) That I'd like to look at and another ok one at ringwood Mazda who will give me a discount on the purchase price of the car because of some staff discount I get through work I didnt even know I had !

Go the silver one at car city Mon. Looks much much nicer and it has less k's. All depending on a better inspection of course.

but think about how much you will have to pay shortly for the big service that the silver one will probably need and check that the red one has had it

Oh god ... I test drove 6 Mx5's today and stuffed around with 4 diffrent dealers.
But I think It's been worth it. Ive found a really sweet red 1999 NB01 at a Mazda Dealership, apparently it was traded in by members of the Mx5 club who traded up to an NC. Its got log book service history and had its 100K service done.
4 Spanking new tyers on it (on standard rims) the question is this... I like my existing rims - but am I better off with 4 brand new tyers or making em swap my rims over?
