If you want it looking nicely finished, use some quilted vinyl instead of the carpet.

Anyone checked out Nakamae consoles?
They do make some very nice centre consoles in the same barebones-racing style

Yeah seen these a few times, they nowhere near worth the money you pay for them.. They look good and all, but im pretty sure a good diy job would look just as neat, and cost a fraction of the Nakamae..

That actually looks really good.
That would be a cool thing to look at but.... where do you rest your arm?

I have a Nakamae centre console for a NB, but I had it fitted into my NA for a while.

I love it. I only took it out as the missus and I went on holidays to the Blue Mountains and I knew I would leave the top down a fair bit so I took it out as I wanted the extra security of having the boot and fuel release lockable. Just haven't bothered to put it back in.

Mine was bought second hand from Mania.

The difference though is in the build, the Nakamae have a fibreglass frame that gives the console more body and a built in mount that enables the electric window switches to be mounted into the centre console. It also bolts up to the front part of the console using the original mounting holes of the original centre dash.

And no, I don't want to sell mine. :)
