Hello, my mate had a toyota mr2 and his cigarette lighter didn't work in the car when he got it. so he pulled out the cigarette lighter and replace it with a shift light.

just a few questions:

1) is this hard to do?
2) What size shift light would be needed?
3) would this shift light do the job?

The best shift lights I've seen are on the new Ferrari 599, where they are built in to the top of the steering wheel.

Having a single shift light way down low where the cig lighter is would be almost useless as you can't see it when you really need it.
Shift lights should ALWAYS be mounted up high, and in your general field of vision because if you can't see it, it won't do you any good.

Put one of those fancy LED torch light thingy in the cigarette lighter
Pretty useful since there isn't much light in the cabin in the nightime (for my NA at least)
