You will need the key in at least the acc position and you will also have to push the on button on the unit Spiky (it may sound like an err derr statement, but it's often the err derrs that make it work).

well a few tips for the new headunit
you can install it yourself it isn't that hard (I did my own install) this way you save some money
but
if you get it installed by the people who sell you the headunit you will have better after sales service if anything goes wrong with it and some sellers will even void the warrany if they don't get to install it myself, not sure if that's leagal but it is life well for me at least
had a bit of trouble with rear RCA outputs went back to shop and was told whatever was wrong with it wasn't covered
so i fixed it myself all good now just annoying that I was turned down before they even looked at it (problem was loose RCA on headunit due to the shallow NB radio slot)
