Hey guys, not sure what you'll think but i quite like it. I still need to get floor mats maybe in the red chequer plate or similar. The gear-boot is hand made by ME and i love the Mazdaspeed knob, very comfy
Anywho let me know what you think! (any tips are appreciated)
P.S. What switch is the end pic of. Fog lights?

shame about the picture quality but looks the goods! i want to do something like that, how long did it take? did you sand before you painted? gimme some insight

no sanding required but could help. Use a wax and grease remover first to get rid of any impurities and go for your life doing light, even coats. If you do 5 or 6 coats you wont have a problem with it scratching off and having a clear over it to prtect it looks way too shiny.
I went through 3 cans of vinyl/plastic paint that cost $15 each. Pretty damn cheap makeover with only a minimal amount of work!

Instead of buying some make them yourself, should turn out alot better, I got my material from Clark Rubber, not sure if you can ge them in red though just look around I guess

they look fantastic mate! I like the way they just tidy everything up
Also i think the rubber ones might be a bit better as they wouldn't be so slippery as the autotechnica or similar ones from autobarn are.

yea I borrowed a set of the premade ones but they were too shiny and annoying for me and the fit wasn't great either, also they were selling for $40 and I only needed the front ones
mine don't move around at all but I'm not sure if that's because of the stock anchor for the mx5 mats or because of material, $26 for materials and 10 mins of cutting

how did you get the top vents out?
Posted: Tue Mar 13, 2007 3:30 pm

just use a very thin flathead screwdriver to pop them out from the front.
If there is an easier way that someone knows of please correct me.

To remove the vents, either a cable-tie; double back on itself and crimp hard to give a sharp 'tick' shape - feed into the vent and pull back so that it gets caught in the vent ball and pull hard - pops out nicely. A wire will also do the trick.

wouldnt that break the top vents? thats what i do for the round ones but i was worried id break the thing if i did it to those dash ones

Sorry
I was talking about the round ones.....haven't tried taking the top ones out yet.
For most of my extracting, I use a 'magic stick' which is a hard nylon blade that does not mark parts etc. Screwdrivers are bad
