front indicators

Is there a easy way of removing the front lens off the front indicators?so I can remove the orange in it.it seems to be glued on tight,that it might break if you try to prise it apart.any suggestions would be great.

Very carefully and lots of patience ... I put mine in the oven for about 30 mins at 100 degrees. Result is well worth the effort though.

I also put mine in the oven.
Although I find that five minutes or less on 120 is sufficient...

Oven here aswell!!!
And use several BUTTER KNIVES to pry it open. being thinner, wider and slightly flexible helps ALOT!!!
After that you can cut and swap positive wires so that the little side lights are blinkers (with orange bulbs). It will blink faster but you get over that, i just figured it helps my indication get noticed.

Oven here too. Be VERY CAREFUL. If the glue isn't quite melted you will snap the plastic.
Trust me.
And while you have them out, shave them and polish them too!

so if you leave the original indicator globes in as your \"driving lights\", are they bright enough? or should you upgrade them?

Definately bright enough, I think some even say they are "too bright" for side lights! Think of the poxy little globes which do the job now.
I'm going to change them over soon too.

Rodent did the swap. They were really bright, almost too bright IMO. But the indicator couldn't really be seen when turning from the front...I've had this problem as well, other drivers cannot see the indicator int he sun because the bulb has nothing to reflect a brighter shine off.

Yeah, ive been a bit worried about people not seeing the indicator aswell.... im going to try and put a bigger bulb in.
But as been said the parkers become very bright... and because of the reflector shape it shines up into peoples cabins...

Now now Ladies..
Anyways, this is from a post i made about a year ago.. Hope it can be of some help Spikey.
you can pull the ones you have apart...
I did it to mine with a flat blade screwdriver and a hairdryer. The orange bit inside is just held in with 2 screws, You should try it, very easy to do will take you an hour or so. I also swaped my indicator with my parking lights, so now the indicator is on the outside where the parkers where.
