I was looking over the website for an oil catch can when I came across these...
http://justjap.com/parts/new/seats/blackrecarostyle.jpghttp://justjap.com/parts_nseats.htmJust wondering if anyone has put any in their mx5 and if they fit ok? I know my the chances of someone responding to this post are slim but its worth a try or I may have to buy a pair and try for myself. If your seats are stuffed and lost their comfort padding and lumber support maybe this is the way to go? Just a thought.

Price is right! Let us know if you inspect/buy them. The fixed ones could be a good supersprint seat.

The RRP for the reclining soldsmart seat is $1000 (that is REAL Bride seat territory)
LOL
Not bad though, not sure about the quality (probably a cheap made in china jobby)

I once bought a soldsmart steering wheel. Yes it was round, yes it looked like a steering wheel, yes it looked like leather.... but it was sh*t! Stiching was poor, it was actually just vynil, and you could grab it and bend it, it was that flexible.

hey jse, justjap are in sydney aren't they? go and have a look at them in the flesh mate!
great prices, especially the fixed back one. $199, wow. i'd be interested to see the angle of recline on the fixed back seat. my seat is usually all the way back with the back flat against the wall, so if these seats have a similar reclin, well i am very tempted!

I came across a thread today in another forum that mentions that the justjap seats are ADR approved (a group buy was organised via the Skylines AU forum)
Sounds like a better option if the quality of the soldsmart seats is the same as PT's description of their steering wheels.
The justjap seats look cool though (maybe you can embroider the bride logo on them

)

your in luck.. i got mine from justjap too.

the passenger seat nearly bolts staight on to the stock rails. just needed to redrill a hole about 1cm down from original hole. width is the same.
passenger you need to do custom mounts. that side has a weird shape. i modified a bride rail to make it fit.[/img]

vrmmmpshhh, where'd you get the chrome mirrors from?

so what do you think of the general feel of the seats compared to the stockies?
i don't mind the stock na6 seats, but they don't seem to hold you into the seat that well with hard cornering. i remember reading someone saying that with stock na6 seats you feel like you are sitting on the seat, rather than in the seat, or something like that. seems like a good description to me.
so, thoughts??

Looks great vrrmpsh. Any pictures of them from an interior angle? Looks like you got the BRIDE look-a-likes. Can't complain really for the price. I just want something to hold me in a bit firmer when I swing into a corner. Anybody interested in a gropu buy? I reckon we could get Justjap down a fair bit with a bit of bartering.
Autobarn also stocks a fair few different types of seats: sparco, monza, autotechnica, isotta however they are all cheap crap that look fugly. Except for the sparco's but I get way to uncomfortable in fixed back seats.

I am interested in a group buy... assuming they are a good fit.

Does the driver or passenger one bolt straight in? I thought they were almost the same.

those seats are replica Recaro SR seats. Similar to those in the integra type R. They are quite big seats, not sure if they will fit a mx5.

Yeah used to have a Type R. The recaro style ones are great. keep you in there tight and also are very comfortable. yeah does the passenger or driver bolt straight in?
