My rear-window zip slider died.

I went to zip the rear window up the other night and realised that the zip slider had been squashed - probably between the RHS soft-top stoppers.
My solution was to buy a matching size zip from Lincraft and transplant the slider onto my zip. However, I soon realised that although identically sized, not all zips are created equal as the donor slider failed to join the two sides of the zip effectively. As a result, the window is currently being held up by safety pins.
I'm sure plenty of people have encountered this before, so what do you do? I'd REALLY prefer not to replace the roof as it still in good overall condition, as with the window.
Thoughts? Tips?

My car had a usable zip-slider (but without the tag - I had been using a keyring to pull it instead). Kindly ask Mania (who's currently \"minding\" her) and I'm sure they'd be happy to cut it out and mail it to you.
jonno.

Thanks fellas, I'll be down in Sydney next Wednesday, so I think I'll call into Mania then. I didn't think of pilfering an actual MX5 one. Great idea.

My mx5 arrived from Japan with a few screws holding the rear window in...
To be honest, I only found out recently that the rear window was able to be unzipped. Having said that, it's been about 3 months since I put the roof up, so the fact that I need a new one doesn't really bother me...

I believe the slider is a YKK #10 slider.
YKK in Brookvale may be able to help you, and the cost is around $1 each.
It's a B@st@#& to put on though.

Aha! Another excellent suggestion. If Mania fails me, I'll be right there.

So, went to Mania on Wednesday.
I had the great misfortune of overshooting their street and discovering Galston Gorge! I'm sure I'm not the first to have done this. I've just spent two weeks lapping Tasmania and I didn't see hairpin anywhere as tight as those!
Anyway, I realised the hard way that my rear window is non-factory so therefore the zipper is not also. So I'm yet to solve my problem. Anyway, I bought a wrinkle finish Voodoo knob (so I can put away my numbered one) and found the staff very friendly and helpful as reputed.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to hit YKK, so I'm now on a mission.

My rear zipper is broken as well...I zipped it back up and havnt used the zipper for about 6months...when u put the top off make sure you are out of the car and fold the plastic into a neat roll...this will ensure that you dont get any cracks or white lines/fold marks in the rear plastic shield.

Funny u say that.....I had to do that as when I bought my car the zipper was done up with fishing line, and had been like that since october (bought car in jan).....i had to replace the roof in june, as the window got a massive crack
