OK, I'm trying to keep it subtle, tasteful even.

I now have a Voodoo gear knob & handbrake lever, with SCALA leather boot/gaiter.

Rather than go for chrome, I've decided that the polished or satin look is more subtle.



Next I'm thinking of \"satin\" vent rings. Wouldn't mind a Nardi Classico wheel too...
Could anyone post a photo of these in an NA ?

Also thinking of getting the missing three gauge rings for the instruments. Are they as hard to fit I'm led to believe?

Do you ever get the ouchies after your car has been parked in the hot sun for a while though? My black Voodoo knob does that a little on some days.

I usually leave my cap over the gear knob when parked, so far heat not a problem - but it's early days yet...

That Nardi wheel looks great, are they the same diameter as the standard wheel, I wonder?

I've dríven an MX-5 with a smaller Momo wheel and just couldn't see the instruments properly. The larger diameter seems more \"vintage\" anyway.

Justin's Nardi is 330mm and the stock Momo is 360mm. Nardi produces a 360mm for the same style too.

i had the same Nardi but as u said i can't see the dials too so i have since replaced with a 350mm Momo. it's smaller which gives me more space and i can still see the dials so the best of both worlds.

Gazbo. You are doing EXACTLY what I have done. I'll look for some pics. The gauge cluster rings are a MUST have IMHO.

BTW, get a chrome button for the handbrake handle. There's a genuine Mazda part for the Titanium MX-5. They just screw on and complete the look.

This is the only one I seem to be able to find. It doesn't really show the cluster rings, but you get a good idea about the chrome button on the hand brake.

Oh, and the rings were \"fairly\" easy to fit. I went very slow and steady and used Araldite. DO NOT USE SUPERGLUE. It will cloud the clear plastic.

They have been on for 4 years without drama.

Jules, thanks for that photo, I wasn't going to get the instrument rings, but after seeing yours, I'll be ordering some.

A question about your leather handbrake boot, did you pull the boot all the way down to the rubber o-ring?

Mine has about 1cm overlap where the leather is doubled over, if you know what I mean?

Mine is the same as yours.
There's a 1cm overlap where the boot goes over the O ring and under itself. You basically turn it inside out to fit with the ring 1cm from the end and then pull the whole boot down onto the handbrake.
I then jammed the O ring into the small gap between the Voodoo grip and the old plastic handbrake cover.

Just a tip in regards to the Benny's gear stick boot. If you leave the old one still attached and just put the new one on top of it, you get a really nice thick feel, and the gap between boot and Voodoo is closed up perfectly.

I hope this makes sense.
