Well this is what i have been doing the past 2 days....

This is how bad the scratches and swirls were BEFORE i started(DAMN black cars and swirl marks)

This is how it looked after MANY applications of scratchX BY HAND.

This is how it looked after a couple applications of Turtle ColorCure(Black obviously)

This is how it looked after an application of Kitten Polish.

This is how it looked after 1 application of Meguiars NXT WAX

Notice how much deeper the Black looks :P
(i put on another coat 24 hours later which really deepened the black even more).

Anyway, things ive learned:
1. ScratchX is a really bad product to use on the whole car to remove swirls, as it needs at least 4 or 5 applications to be of any use and needs to be applied by hand. it took me about 10 hours to do the whole car properly.

2. Meguiars NXT WAX is GREAT!

3. ive already bought a PROPER electric polisher instead of my crappy $30 one :)

Cheers,
Sam

they were the exact steps i took. i really like the Turtle ColorCure but it attracts so much dust so i put a coat of the Kitten Polish on top which deepened the paint.

I haven't found ScratchX applied by hand or ROB to be much help for removing swirls and scratches on my car. :frown:

Gold Class Clear Coat Prep is a better scratch and swirl remover than Scratch X. I actually use it as a light cutting compound and it works really well on fresh acrylic paint. 8)

yeah it didnt get all the swirls out. i definately wont be using it again to do the whole car. it is really only designed to be used on small 'spot fixes'.

the turtle color cure got rid of the swirls(or at least hid them) after just 1 application.
