Anyone recognise this bar?

Postby Lucky_Luke » Thu Aug 10, 2006 3:46 pm

I found this image on the vic club wesite i think, so someone might recognise this car and the driver! Is the owner amongst us?

I quite like the look of the style / roll bar on it (and the wheels too actually) but am wondering if anyone knows what brand bar it is or if its custom?? :?:

Thanks.
Luke.

He was at Natmeet Luke,

He is amongst us, if not in the forum, then one of the forum members would know him

It looks like one of the Racing Beat ones.

Looks like they've built a better mousetrap.

:D Mousetrap.... LOL ... i guess it does a bit.

Yeah you guys are right it does look very similar to the racing beat one although i reckon the racing beat bar itself looks alot fatter.. like an oval cross section? ..hmmm :?

'similar' to yours JSE.. which one do you have? any pics..

Thanks for the input everyone! I reckon i'll have another hunt again before i consider getting one made.

This guy must be round here somewhere .. if any one happens to see him.. can you ask him! :D

Ignore the prettier car in the foreground:

JSE's bar at least has some additional supports, which makes it a whole lot less mousetrappey than that thing you've posted (which I can't imagine being much stronger than the A-pillar itself :?)

haha  Keep dreaming Jonno...one day your car will be as pretty as mine! Funny how they are slowly looking more like twins day by day...even with the numberplates  except mine is actually blue in colour which means its so much more fully hectic!

I actually don't know what bar it is Luke. It came with the car from Japan and it doesn't have any labels, stickers, mouldings or engravings to tell otherwise...so I guess its just a random Japanese one that will remain unnamed and a mystery. I havn't ever seen another mx5/roadster with the same bar as me so I dont quite know?

now now... :D
You both are almost twins...

Thanks for all your input everyone.. i guess i'll just have to keep my eyes peeled!
Yeah i dont really want it for roll over protection mainly as a simple style bar as I havent come around to the big bling chrome ones yet.
I might have to Look at getting someone here at work to weld one up for me :D

Cheers,
Luke.
