Rising roof

Postby Gazbo » Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:04 pm

One of the sleeves that holds the roof onto the frame has parted company with my soft top.

At speed, air pressure causes that part of my roof to rise a few cm's off the frame!

The roof is undamaged otherwise.

Could the sleeve be reglued to the roof?

What about plastic welding?

You get that annoying flapping noise when going high speeds with the window down?
I learnt to ignore it eventally but if the flaps are still there just glue them back on.... or get some black vinyl and make some

Yes. Use a good contact glue. Coat the sleeve and the roof (where the sleeve will touch it) and press together when the glue is no longer tacky. Leave the roof up and put a couple of phone books on that frame bar area overnight and Robert's yer father's brother.

Sounds like what you're after. I don't have pics up yet, though.
