Fitted pastapetes trim kit *pics inside

Postby Amanda » Sat Aug 05, 2006 2:52 pm

Was pretty easy to install, sticks very very well  once attached to the car, very hard to move! Best part is its quite manouevrable, so you can pull it around to get it fitted just right!

I didnt put the trim on that fits around the heater controls, the trim is quite thick and I am worried it will look a bit odd! So for now I have left it off and can always put it on later on.

The colour suits the Fashion Bars really well too, in all I am wrapped with how its turned out. The photo doesnt do it justice below, but you get the idea!

edit : Removed dodgy photo link

So they are stickers? Not real trim?

It's made out of a vinyl/plastic like material a few mm thick, it has 3M double sided glue... fits like the Chrome Vent Rings do. You wipe with alcohol swabs, use the 3M adhesive wipes and then remove the backing and apply to the dash.

Bevan has the same kit, he might be able to comment further on the material they are made of.

Looks really good....

Looks great, making me regret not putting up more of a fight for it! :D

Could you do a close up of trim around the vent sometime? I'm interested to know if it is just on the front part or curls in on the edge a bit (if that makes sense, its hard to tell from the photo).

I was hesitant at the idea of using 'stickers' to make my car look better but the more I looked into it the more I realised its a bit better quality than that :D

Anyway dibs on the next one that comes along.

Look, dont even think of the term 'stickers' its far better quality than anything I'd apply the term sticker too :P Once you remove the backing and put apply it to the dash it sticks very firm but its made from a pliable material so you can stretch it to ensure a good fit. Its a few mm thick, the only thing I could think that might damage it would be dropping a screw driver on it or something hard and blunt, lets face it - the normal plastic wouldn't like that either.

The vent rings are not like the chrome ones you buy, these ones are only a few mm wide and sit on the actual vent ring. I'll try and take a shot but with the P & S the quality isnt soo good.

Here you go - when i saw them stuck to the board with the other bits I was like 'what the hell, they look crap' but once fitted i liked them

It really brightens up the interior, last night I jumped in the car in the dark... with the dash all lit up, it looks the goods!

yeh u gotta voodoo.... this is my second one ( sabretooth has his hands on my first one   :P ) I think I should get the leather shift boot and handbrake thingo and a voodoo handbrake handle with chrome button as well! That'll get that part sorted out.......

day dreaming - one day I'd like black leather seats with red stitching like the SEs have and the SE body kit and a iPod thingo to the stereo and whilst I am here a brand spanking new Rolex Explorer 1 mmmmmm drooooooool

Very nice. Very similar to my old 8A's style, except mine was carbon fibre style.

However, this time round (since I have a choice) I don't think that pearl colour is quite for me, so glad it went to your hands rather than mine, Amanda :)

I'm still looking for a more brushed aluminium look. Hopefully I'll find something soon, but no doubt you'll hear about it when I do :P

Hi Amanda, is that the 'black textured' voodoo? Looks like what I'd be after, but no pics of em on mania's website.... Thanks :)
