Postby Lucky_Luke » Wed Aug 02, 2006 7:48 pm

Just wondering if anyone has purchased one of these soft tops before from ebay?

Just wondering about the fit and quality of them... they look like they're quite good and could be a pretty good buy..

Cheers
Luke.

theres been a few threads already bout the ebays ones, especially the PrestigeAutoTrims. my glass window top is one from PrestigeAuto in the UK, the guy on ebay who works for them also has an aussie bank account too so money is even easier to transfer (& has a discount for this method).

arrived rather quickly in good nick & the glass didn't break. you can have a look at mine sometime if you wanna check out their quality.

can't remember exactly but the total cost when i bought it plus to have an auto trimmer install it (Wilshire) was a tad less then buying only the top itself from MX-5 Mania. great buy if your gonna DIY, i know you & Peter are like that.

well, next outing you can have a lookie. we have yet to have our own fish & chips run in adelaide.

didn't come with a rain rail but i wouldn't be surprised if they can include one if you ask them. my old one was just re-used, was cracked but had been repaired in the past with silicone paste.

they got rather good instructions on their site too, but the printed instructions in the box weren't all that great & is more suited to an autotrimmer who's done MX-5s before. so print out the one on their website & also Miata.net for extra reference.
