Headlight panel gap - have you ever noticed...?

Has anyone ever noticed that the panel gap between the driver's side headlight panel and the bonnet is slightly larger than the same panel gap on the passenger's side in some NA MX5's? This is when the headlights are in the closed position. Has anyone tried to fix it, short of taking it to a panel beater? I tried to pull the driver's side headlight panel to close the gap a bit but it's still not the same as the passenger's side. :?

The headlight lid is pretty malleable, so you can just kinda bend it slightly to get the fit that you want :)

I was concerned that the panel might come off. I don't know me own strength sometimes. :)

There are some small screws that hold the headlight unit lid on. You can loosen them which will also give some adjustment.

How do I get to those screws? Do I remove the black plastic panel that surrounds the actual headlight?

yeah remove the 4 screws on the light cover then there should be 4 screws holding down the lid/cover.
