I have 4 chrome vent rings with double sided tape fitted. Whats the best way for me to get them off without wrecking them? They will be free to good home once they are off the car too!!!
Hairdryer?? Any risk of melting anything I dont want melted???

Yeah, hairdryer on a low setting, you will be best off to take your time on a low setting I think.

OK done... you can have them... but dont you already have coloured stuff in your SE??
EDIT: The aren't perfect, I got them from Moss Motors in the US and they came brand new with a few dimple like imperfections. There might be further damage once I get them off too, we'll see how I go.

Rather than remove the vent rings, why don't you remove the whole lot and swap them with someone who wants them, for their vents which don't?????

Nahh I cant be bothered, firstly I would have no idea how to remove them and secondly for what cost $30 it doesnt seem worth the work.

Removing the vents is a 30 second no cost job.
Take coat hanger, or that plastic tape which is used to seal packages.
Create tight radius hook, or bend tape kike you were going to use it to break into a car.
Slip the hook into the vent and back out again, around the back of one of the blades.
Pull gently straight out. The vent will pop out in its entireity.
If it's really tough you might need two hooks - one either side of the vent.
