Hardtop Questions

Postby Amanda » Mon Jul 03, 2006 6:31 pm

Hi guys.

Question for you all...

1. How much is the window worth in a hardtop? has anyone ever replaced one?
2. How big would a crack have to be in the fibreglass (they are fibreglass right?) before it was unrepairable?

Last question

3. How big can a crack in glass be before it couldnt be repaired by a Windscreens O'Brien and the like?

Thanks everybody.....

I take it your eyeing the broken one on Ebay ;)

1. I would estimate it would cost around $300-$400 based on a new windscreen costing around the $200-300 and these are not as common.
2. I thought they were made from Metal? but I could be wrong. If its fibreglass then anything is repairable.

Repairs,paint,window,rubbers...would be more than $1000...probably better to find one in good condition, for it to be cracked and have a broken window it's had a very hard time.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

You're a wise man Boyracer.
My sentiments exactly.
It's always cheaper in the long run to buy something good rather than buy something broken or crappy and have to repair it.
