went to super cheap today and bough ALOT of cleaning products....
Steps I went through
1) Wash with Kitten car wash scrubbing car, tyres and wheels and then rinse
2) Repeat step 1
3) used a clay to remove impurities. Meguiar's clay ,Never did this before and it makes quite a difference. makes the surface very smooth.
4) AutoGlym paint renovator
5) Autoglym super resin polish using a buffer.
6) Meguiar's hitech yellow carnauba wax.
7) tyre shine stuff.
pics up tomorrow when the sun is up
my back hurts

very very nice....if only you had some decent rims...ur ride would look perfect
p.s. how did u find the clay treatment? and how long did it take? ive never really bothered with it before....

yeh the clay treatment was interesting.. but it does work.
the clay smoothed out areas where it felt a little rough e.g. bottom of front guards behind the wheels where crap gets srpayed on to and the rear bumper.
made a differences there.
i clayed the whole car and it took me about 45 minutes. cost me $30 or so. can't rem exactly.
worth doing i think to get the deep reflective shine. my car has never looked like this before.

5 hrs! It takes me that long just to give my car a \"quck\" wash. I spent 32 hours on my concours effort.
And Charlie Brown still beat me for best NB8B

I clayed my car when i got back from LA a couple weeks ago.. It is well worth it..
You can buy a meguiars clay kit at just about any car store. One way to feel the impurities on your paint, is to stick your hand inside a plastic bag, and run your hand over the surface of the car.. the clay gets rid of all those little bumps, it feels like glass when its done...

I don't think that's possible - all you'd be able to see in the pic is a rather strange looking guy holding up a camera
Great job Astro, and even better pics to boot.
I'd been thinking about going the claybar route myself and now it looks like I'll have to do it for sure.

The 32 hours was spread over 2 weeks and it went something like this.
High pressure water clean under car
Manual clean of inner guards and suspension components.
Clean wheels inside and out
Clean and polish engine bay
ScratchX the whole car
Polish whole car
Wax whole car
Quick detail whole car
Clean interior including the boot
Drive to the concours and quick detail again
Being black it looked nice till the end of the day after which it had a fine layer of dust and salt on it. Then you couldn't see where all my time had gone.
But it did look good for a couple of minutes.
